Why Choose Built-up Aluminium Letters?

Aluminium is a slightly more expensive option than Perspex, yet because it can be powder coated in any RAL colour it offers a greater range of colour finishes.

Our built up letters are created by adding sides to a flat cut letter in order to create a 3D effect. As with Perspex, aluminium doesn’t rust, rot or corrode and is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. The advantage of aluminium is that Impact Signs can coat it in high quality matt, satin or gloss finishes in an extensive range of colours to match the colour and style of your corporate image.

Impact Signs have installed built up aluminium lettering on shop fronts, galleries, as projecting signs and even on our own premises! They are also suitable for interior walls. Either way, we always install letters using hidden rear fixings, for a quality finish.

Without any need for maintenance, built up aluminium letters look as impressive after years on the outside of a building, as they did on the day they were installed.

DIY

  1. When we supply you with individual cut letters, we also supply a “Fixing Layout” made from craft paper, showing the drawn round letters (in a layout) with the “Fixing” points marked with an “X”, this is indicated at the top of the page, – X marks the spot!
  2. You place the “Layout” at the required position on the fascia and drill where the “X’s” are!
  3. The female cap is then screwed into the fascia (Giving the screw half a turn back to allow the cup to swivel and screw down)
  4. Push the letter into the cups until and audible click is heard if using nylon fittings, for metal letters using brass fixings screw down the cap until it is tight.

It’s as easy as that!

Note: for metal letters, we would use brass screw type locators, exactly the same fixing method as above but instead of ‘snapping’ in place you simply screw the nut to to the thread on the letter.

You are friendly and helpful, reliable and reasonably priced. To be honest I’ve found all of the staff at Impact to be helpful and friendly, I’ve had a couple of orders that I haven’t given Patrick much time to fill but he always manages to get the job done
